Country music legends Garth Brooks and Pat Alger have tied at No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Songwriters chart dated February 6.
Brooks and Alger rose to the top of the chart thanks to the strong debut of State of Mine's cover of Brooks' '90s country classic "The Thunder Rolls."
The remake debuted on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart at No. 1 with 501,000 U.S. streams and 9,000 downloads sold in the week ending January 28, according to MRC Data.
The original "The Thunder Rolls" was released in April 1991 as the fourth and final single from Brooks' album No Fences. The song became his sixth number one on the country chart.
