French electronic music duo Daft Punk have revealed they are splitting up after 28 years.

The duo announced the news on Monday, February 22, in an 8-minute video called "Epilogue." In the video, the pair bid each other farewell in a desert before one of them walks away and explodes. The video then cuts to a desert sunset or sunrise, as their 2013 single "Touch" can be heard at the end.

Daft Punk were formed in 1993 in Paris by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. They achieved popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French house movement.

They are regarded as one of the most influential acts in dance music history, boasting several international hits including "One More Time," "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and "Get Lucky." Daft Punk have also won six Grammy Awards.
