Scorpions Drummer Mikkey Dee Says Global Shutdown Cannot Continue

It is high time the world gets out of the lockdown forced by the coronavirus pandemic, according to Scorpions drummer Mikkey Dee.

The former Motorhead member offered the opinion while speaking to the "RRBG Podcast" about the progress of the recording sessions for the Scorpions' upcoming studio album.

"The world has been shut down for one full year now, and that can just not continue like that. It's a disaster in so many other ways than the virus. That's how I see it. It's very, very unfortunate," he said.

Dee has been working with his bandmates on a new album since recovering from COVID in March last year, but production has been disrupted due to multiple reasons.

Dee did not conceal his frustration over the new variants of coronavirus that have started emerging in different parts of the world.

"All this f---ing second wave and third wave - now they're talking about a fourth wave, and there's mutations from every f---ing country in the world," he said. "If we're gonna continue adapting after that, we're talking 15 years."
