Shakira has released a new single, titled "Don't Wait Up." The EDM track was co-produced by Shakira and Ian Kirkpatrick.
The video for the song was filmed in Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands. It shows Shakira's surfing on a neon-lit surfboard and performing slick moves on the dance floor.
"I'm excited to share my new song 'Don't Wait Up' with everyone — the day we came up with this in the studio, I knew it would be perfect for summer and those nights where you just want to not think about tomorrow!" Shakira said in a statement.
The Latin American singer had teased the new music three days ago by releasing a 30-second video that revealed the name of the song and part of the lyrics.
"Don't Wait Up" drops over a year after the release of "Me Gusta" and seven months after her collaboration with Black Eyed Peas on "Girl Like Me." The track is also Shakira's first all-English song since 2016's "Try Everything."
