Groupe SEB H1 Profit Surges; Sees Sales Growth In FY21 - Quick Facts

Groupe SEB (0MGS.L,SEBYF.OB), a manufacturer of small appliances, reported Friday that its first-half profit attributable to owners of the parent totaled 151 million euros, compared to 3 million euros last year.

Earnings per share were 2.78 euros, up from 0.05 euro a year ago.

Sales climbed 24 percent to 2.91 billion euros from last year's 3.61 billion euros. Sales grew 26.3 percent on a like-for-like basis.

Sales went up 8.2 percent relative to first-half 2019.

Looking ahead, the company said it is on track to ensure the continuation of its profitable and responsible growth.

T. de La Tour d'Artaise, Chairman and CEO of Groupe SEB, said, "In a context of a still unstable global health environment, but given the performance of the first half, we now anticipate for full-year 2021 a growth in reported sales exceeding 10 percent, along with an operating margin of close to 10 percent."

Drug major Pfizer has again expanded the earlier two recalls of its anti-smoking Drug Chantix (Varenicline) in the form of tablets, to now include all the lots, for the potential presence of nitrosamine impurity, N-Nitroso- varenicline, at or above the FDA interim acceptable intake limit (ADI), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or FDA said in a statement.
