Cathay General Bancorp To Buy Back Up To $125 Mln Of Common Stock

Cathay General Bancorp (CATY) said that its board has adopted a new share repurchase program authorizing the company to repurchase up to $125 million of the company's common stock.

The $75 million share repurchase program announced on April 1, 2021, was completed on August 5, 2021, with the repurchase of 1.83 million shares at an average cost of $40.93.

As of the date of the press release, the company has approximately 77.86 million shares of common stock outstanding.

Drug major Pfizer has again expanded the earlier two recalls of its anti-smoking Drug Chantix (Varenicline) in the form of tablets, to now include all the lots, for the potential presence of nitrosamine impurity, N-Nitroso- varenicline, at or above the FDA interim acceptable intake limit (ADI), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or FDA said in a statement.
