After moving modestly higher early in the session, stocks have seen some further upside over the course of the trading day on Tuesday. The major averages have climbed more firmly into positive territory after ending the previous session roughly flat.
Currently, the major averages are hovering near their best levels of the day. The Dow is up 191.38 points or 0.5 percent at 36,278.83, the Nasdaq is up 108.95 points or 0.7 percent at 15,962.80 and the S&P 500 is up 25.43 points or 0.5 percent at 4,708.23.
