Stocks more or less maintained positive bias as Omicron appeared less dangerous than originally feared. Asian equity benchmarks closed mixed. European stocks moved mixed despite rising Omicron cases. American stock futures indicate positive opening. The Dollar Index strengthened. Bond yields mostly firmed up. Oil prices dropped ahead of inventory data release by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Gold dropped below $1800 after almost a week amidst a strengthening dollar. Cryptocurrencies extended losses. Bitcoin and Ethereum are down more than 2 percent.
