Sandvik Bags Orders Worth SEK 400 Mln For AutoMine Solutions

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, an arm of Sandvik AB (SDVKY.PK), a Swedish engineering firm, said on Tuesday that it has received an order valued at about SEK 250 million, for its AutoMine load and haul automation system, from the Chilean mining company Codelco.

Separately, a connected load and haul equipment order, with an initial value of SEK 150 million, was also received by Sandvik, bringing the total value of the orders to SEK 400 million. Both orders have been booked in the fourth quarter 2021 and the contracts will function from 2022 to 2027.

"I am pleased to see a continued strong interest for AutoMine solutions that contribute to improving safety, reliability and productivity in the mine and I look forward to the partnership with Codelco in this project," commented Henrik Ager, President of business area Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions.

The automation system equipment is expected to be used in the El Teniente mine, an underground copper mine located in the Chilean Andes.
