Lamb Weston Holdings Up 7% As Q2 Results Beat Estimates

Shares of packaged foods company Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. (LW) are rising 7 percent on Thursday's trading after the company's second quarter earnings came in above the Street estimates.

The company's earnings totaled $32.5 million or $0.22 per share, lower than $96.9 million or $0.66 per share a year ago.

Excluding items, the company reported adjusted earnings of $73.0 million or $0.50 per share for the period while analysts were looking for earnings of $0.32 per share in the quarter.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 12.2 percent to $1.01 billion from $0.90 billion last year.

Currently at $67.73, the stock has traded between $50.22 and $86.41 during the past 52 weeks.
