Asian equity markets closed mixed despite China cutting lending rates again. Fed's inflation combat continued to spook European stock markets. American stocks appear set for a positive opening. The Dollar Index edged up. U.S. treasury yields surged across tenors. Crude oil prices cooled off a bit amidst profit booking, but supply concerns as well as tensions between Russia and Ukraine limited the fall. Gold declined as rising bond yields and a stronger Dollar Index put immense pressure on the yellow metal. Cryptocurrencies rebounded. Bitcoin is up more than 1 percent.
