Shares of Gap, Inc. (GPS) are gaining over 8% on Wednesday morning on reports that the apparel retailer is a potential target for an activist holder.
GPS is currently trading at $14.50, up $1.14 or 8.53%, on the NYSE. The stock opened its trading at $13.28 after closing previous day's trading at $13.36. The stock has traded between $12.78 and $37.63 in the past 52 weeks.
According to an Activist Insight report, Gap could be a target for an activist after its shares have declined over the past year.
