Nordson Corp Q2 Profit Decreases, but beats estimates

Nordson Corp (NDSN) revealed earnings for second quarter that decreased from the same period last year but beat the Street estimates.

The company's earnings came in at $109.6 million, or $1.88 per share. This compares with $124.1 million, or $2.12 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Excluding items, Nordson Corp reported adjusted earnings of $142.1 million or $2.43 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $2.29 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 7.8% to $635.4 million from $589.5 million last year.
