Agilent - Moving At A Steady Pace

Shares of Agilent Technologies Inc. (A) have gained more than 9% over the last 1 month and trade around $130.

Agilent Technologies, a spin-off of Hewlett-Packard Company, is a provider of instruments, reagents, software, services, and consumables for complete laboratory processes.

The company reported encouraging financial results for the second quarter ended April 30, 2022, last week, demonstrating the resilience and strength of its business model.

On a non-GAAP basis, net income increased to $340 million or $1.13 per share for the second quarter of 2022 compared with $299 million or $0.97 per share during the second quarter a year ago.

Revenue was $1.61 billion for Q2, 2022, up from $1.53 billion in the comparable year-ago quarter.

Based on the growing momentum of its business, the company now expects non-GAAP earnings in a range of $1.20 to $1.22 per share and revenue in a range of $1.625 billion to $1.650 billion for the third quarter ended July 31, 2022.

Non-GAAP EPS was $1.10 on revenue of $1.59 billion in the third quarter of 2021.

Looking ahead to fiscal year 2022, Agilent expects non-GAAP earnings to range between $4.86 and to $4.93 per share, on revenue in the range of $6.67 billion to $6.73 billion.

The company's non-GAAP earnings were $4.34 per share on revenue of $6.32 billion in fiscal year 2021.

As recently as May 27, the company entered into a collaboration agreement with APC Ltd., a provider of innovative small molecule and large molecule process design and process development solutions.

A quarterly dividend of 21 cents per share of common stock will be paid on July 27, 2022, to all shareholders of record as of the close of business on July 5, 2022.

A has traded in a range of $112.64 to $179.57 in the last 1 year. The stock closed Friday's trading at $130.55.
