121K New Covid Cases, 507 Deaths In U.S.

With 121,315 new cases reported on Thursday, the total number of people that have been infected with coronavirus in the United States has risen to 86,758,495, as per latest data by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

507 Covid deaths reported on the same day took the total U.S. Covid casualties to 1,015,343.

Ohio reported the most number of cases - 16,159 - and deaths - 121.

Deaths have decreased by 13 percent in the last two weeks, New York Times' latest tally shows.

More than 30,000 people are currently in American hospitals with Covid infection, an increase of 5 percent over the last two weeks. More than 3,400 of these patients are admitted in intensive care units, marking a 9 percent rise in a fortnight.

84,257,913 people have so far recovered from the disease, the Worldometer tally shows.

1,929 additional deaths were reported globally on Thursday, taking the total number of people who lost their lives due to the pandemic so far to 6,326,312.

Omnichannel retailer Macy's, Inc. announced Monday plans to hire colleagues for more than 41,000 full- and part-time seasonal positions for the upcoming holiday season.
