Novartis Says Swiss Regulator Begins Probe Into A Patent Assertion

Drug major Novartis AG (NVS), said on Thursday that the Swiss Competition Commission or COMCO officials have visited its headquarters in Basel, Switzerland as part of a probe into the assertion of a patent in the broader field of dermatology treatments.

COMCO has teamed with the European Commission to conduct the enquiry.

"The opening of an investigation does not imply any finding of wrongdoing or any financial impact," Novartis said, adding that it is confident of clarifying legitimacy of its stance.
