Air Liquide S.A. (AIQUY.PK), a French provider of industrial gases and services, said on Tuesday that it has signed a long-term contract to supply additional hydrogen and carbon monoxide to Kumho Mitsui Chemical or KMCI.
The French firm will supply the gases to Air Liquide's four production units at Yeosu National Industrial Complex in South Korea.
Financial terms of the contract are not known.
With this contract, Air Liquide will support KMCI's additional expansion of 200,000 tons per year production of methyl diphenyl diisocyanate or MDI. This isomer is used to manufacture polyurethane for high-tech materials and insulation.
Air Liquide will supply additional hydrogen and carbon monoxide to KMCI for its 50 percent expansion of MDI production with operations commencing in 2024.
