Garland, Texas-based Wild Cajun Meals LLC is recalling around 18,418 pounds of frozen, fully cooked jambalaya and gumbo products, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service or FSIS announced.
The affected products were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, and do not bear the USDA mark of inspection because Wild Cajun is not a federally inspected establishment.
The products subject to recall include 32-oz. Plastic containers of "Lady Jambalaya Homemade Jambalaya", and 32-oz. Plastic containers of "Lady Jambalaya Homemade Gumbo."
The frozen, fully cooked jambalaya and gumbo items were produced beginning in September 2021 and have various sell by dates. These items were shipped to retail locations in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas.
The FSIS found the issue during its routine surveillance activities as the product did not have the USDA mark of inspection.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers' freezers, and urged them to throw away the products or return to the place of purchase.
