The National recently shared a new song, "Eucalyptus," from their upcoming ninth studio album, First Two Pages of Frankenstein, and an accompanying music video.
The video, directed by Chris Sgroi, was shot at Long Pond by Sgroi and frontman Matt Berninger's brother, Tom.
"'Eucalyptus' is about a couple splitting up their possessions after a breakup—like, 'What are we going to do with the spring water we get delivered, what's going to happen to all these plants?' It's about all those little things you end up having to think about when you've become so connected to someone," Matt said of the new single.
The National previously released "New Order T-Shirt" and "Tropic Morning News" from the forthcoming album, which is scheduled to arrive on April 28. The record features contributions from Taylor Swift, Sufjan Stevens, and Phoebe Bridgers.
