Britney Spears' 2003 hit single, "Toxic," has reached 1 billion streams on music-streaming platform Spotify.
With "Toxic," the singer earned her first billion-streaming song on the platform. "Toxic" is a song from Spears' fourth studio album, In the Zone (2003). It was written and produced by Bloodshy & Avant, with additional writing from Cathy Dennis and Henrik Jonback.
Spears joins other artists, including ABBA with their 1976 single "Dancing Queen," Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" from 1987 and DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts" from 2017, to reach the achievement.
Meanwhile, last week, Spears released a collaboration with Will.I.Am, called "Mind Your Business."
The song was her second single since her 2016 solo album Glory and since her conservatorship ended in 2021.
Last year, she teamed with Elton John for a remix based on his 1972 hit "Tiny Dancer," titled "Hold Me Closer."
