ParkerVision, Inc. (PRKR), Friday announced that the company has filed a petition challenging the Federal Circuit of summarily affirming administrative patent invalidations—rather than issuing opinions explaining the reasons for the court's decisions.

The case stems from the company's patent dispute with TCL Industries Holdings Co., Ltd. and LG Electronics Inc. The Patent Trial and Appeal Board invalidated key claims in ParkerVision's patents.

Later, the federal court had issued a one-word 'affirmed' ruling without any further explanation.

With the petition, the wireless solutions provider expects the court to state its reasons for the ruling, ensuring accountability, transparency, and accuracy regarding the matter.

Currently, ParkerVision's stock is trading at $0.92, down 6.12 percent on the OTC Markets.
