Independent Bank Corp. (IBCP), the holding company of Michigan-based Independent Bank, announced that it appointed Christopher Michaels as the organization's new Chief Operating Officer from January 2.
Michaels, who has been with the firm for 12 years, served as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Independent Bank since January 2020.
President and CEO William Kessel said, "Chris is a proven leader with a deep understanding of our business with a successful track record for driving transformation within our organization which makes him uniquely suited for this role."
He added, "I am confident that this appointment will position us to better serve our customers and achieve our long-term growth goals."
Thursday, IBCP had closed 1.32% less at $34.37 on the Nasdaq.
