EyePoint Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (EYPT), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, on Wednesday announced positive six-month results from its ongoing Phase 2 VERONA trial.
The VERONA trial is a randomized, controlled, Phase 2 study evaluating the efficacy and safety of DURAVYU in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) who have previously been treated with anti-VEGF therapy.
The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating that both doses of DURAVYU (1.34mg and 2.7mg) resulted in extended time to the first supplemental injection compared to aflibercept, the standard of care. DURAVYU 2.7mg showed a +7.1-letter improvement in best corrected visual acuity or BCVA and a 76-micron reduction in central subfield thickness or CST at week 24.
