Biocon Biologics Ltd., a subsidiary of Biocon Limited (BIOCON.BO), announced the results of Phase 3 study comparing Yesintek with reference product Ustekinumab in adult patients with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis.
The randomized, double-blind, parallel group, multicenter study enrolled 384 adult patients aged 18-80 years who had a confirmed diagnosis of moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis.
The primary objective of the study was to demonstrate the equivalent efficacy of YESINTEK and Ustekinumab, while assessing secondary outcomes related to safety, tolerability, immunogenicity, and pharmacokinetics.
The primary efficacy endpoint, percentage change from baseline in Psoriasis Area and Severity Index score at Week 12, demonstrated that Yesintek was equivalent to Ustekinumab, with both treatments showing similar improvement in the scores.
Moreover, the safety, pharmacokinetic and immunogenicity profiles of YESINTEK were similar to Ustekinumab through the duration of the study.
