Westpac Banking HY Profit Down

Australia's Westpac Banking Corp. (WBC.AX,WBK) reported that its net profit attributable to owners of the company for half year ended on 31 March 2025 declined to A$3.317 billion from A$3.342 billion in the prior year. But earnings per share rose to 96.0 cents from 91.6 cents last year.

Excluding notable items, net profit attributable to owners of the company for the period decreased to A$3.457 billion from A$3.506 billion last year, while earnings per share increased to 99.8 cents from 95.8 cents in the previous year.

But net operating income for the period was A$10.793 billion up from A$10.590 billion in the previous year.

The company declared interim ordinary dividend of 76 cents per share. The company had declared a 2024 interim dividend of 75 cents per share along with a special dividend of 15 cents per share.
