Tata Communications Ltd. (TATACOMM,500483) on Thursday announced the integration of a new submarine cable system, named TGN-IA2, into its wide global network. Developed by the Asia Direct Cable or ADC consortium, TGN-IA2 is designed to deliver seamless connectivity, scalable bandwidth, and high-capacity data transfer across important intra-Asia routes.
The telecommunications company said that the TGN-IA2 system will bring about better interconnectivity between Asia and major global hubs in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and India.
This expanded network is expected to help different businesses like financial services, e-commerce, and logistics to operate with improved efficiency and reach.
Tata Communications said that unlike traditional consortium-built systems, TGN-IA2 offers full control over capacity upgrades, offering more flexibility, which brings about faster service setup and improved readiness for customers. It also supports data-heavy uses like AI, data centre connections, and high-definition streaming, the company added.
