BMG recently presented the 60th Anniversary Award to Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker, and Matthias Jabs, recognizing the Scorpions' six decades of musical excellence, profound political influence, and global inspiration.
BMG hosted a special evening in honor of the legendary Scorpions' 60-year legacy, attended by friends, partners, and journalists.
"Tonight, we celebrate 60 years of an extraordinary journey," said Marc Johlen, Managing Director GSA at BMG. "The Scorpions are more than just a band; they are global ambassadors for a cosmopolitan Germany, building bridges through music where words often fall short, and their legacy is intrinsically linked to the spirit of unity we commemorate this week."
Scorpions frontman Klaus Meine said, "Receiving this 60th Anniversary Award tonight, surrounded by friends and partners, is deeply moving. When we started, we never imagined our journey would take us around the world and connect us with so many people through our music. Seeing 'Wind of Change' become a symbol of hope and peace is something we cherish immensely. W e are truly grateful for this recognition and for the continued support our fans and long-term partner BMG."
In celebration of their sixth decade as a band, Scorpions will be releasing From The First Sting on October 17 via BMG. The album is a collection of the band's most iconic anthems and includes two previously unreleased tracks.
BMG is the publisher of most works written by Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs from 1990 onwards.
