InspireMD Appoints Peter Soukas As New Chief Medical Officer

InspireMD, Inc. (NSPR), developer of the CGuard Prime carotid stent system for the prevention of stroke, announced Monday the appointment of Peter Soukas as Chief Medical Officer to advance its mission to deliver best-in-class tools for carotid intervention.

Soukas brings significant experience and credentials in the field of vascular intervention to InspireMD. He serves as the Director of Vascular Medicine and the Peripheral Vascular Interventional Laboratory at The Miriam Hospital.

In addition to his role at InspireMD, Soukas will be maintaining his clinical practice.

Soukas has served as the site principal investigator on more than 24 trials in carotid stenting and the site principal investigator on more than 150 endovascular trials. He is a prolific researcher, publishing dozens of peer-reviewed papers with deep relationships among other key opinion leaders.

He is also board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, vascular medicine, and endovascular medicine, and is certified in noninvasive vascular lab interpretation.
