ElringKlinger AG (ZIL2.DE,EGKLF,ELLRY) Thursday said that its Supervisory Board has named Ulrich Zimmer as Chief Operating Officer or COO and a member of the Group Management Board. He will take over from Reiner Drews, who is stepping down on his own accord after a 19-year tenure, the company added.
The German supplier of automotive parts said that Zimmer is expected to assume his duties as COO during the course of 2026.
In his new role, Zimmer will be responsible for the Lightweighting/Elastomer Technology, Metal Sealing Systems & Drivetrain Components, and Metal Forming & Assembly Technology business units. He will also oversee the corporate functions of Production, Quality, Purchasing, Real Estate, and Supply Chain Management, as well as Innovation and R&D, ElringKlinger said in an official statement.
The company said that Zimmer presently works as Senior Vice President R&D at Traton SE, part of the Volkswagen Group.
On the XETRA Exchange, ZIL2.DE ended Wednesday's trading at 4.3350 euros.
