Brazil's industrial output expanded for the second straight month in February, preliminary data from the statistical office IBGE showed on Thursday.
Industrial production rose 0.9 percent month-on-month in February, though slower than the 2.1 percent recovery in January. Economists had expected an increase of 0.7 percent.
Among major economic categories, the capital goods sector grew by 2.3 percent monthly, and consumer goods production advanced by 0.9 percent. Data showed that intermediate goods output showed an increase of 1.1 percent.
