Frankfurt Airport March Passengers Rise 2.1% From Prior Year To 4.7 Mln

Fraport AG (FPRUY,FRA.DE) Wednesday said that during the month of March, around 4.7 million passengers used the Frankfurt Airport, up 2.1 percent from the same period last year. Traffic to the Middle East dropped 68.6 percent, but this decline was offset by strong traffic to Africa, up 22.3 percent and the Far East, including Thailand, which saw an increase of 32.4 percent.

The German airports operator said that in the first quarter of 2026, total passenger numbers at Frankfurt reached 12.7 million, up 2.3 percent. During March, cargo volumes saw a slight increase of 0.4 percent to 185,486 metric tons. Meanwhile, aircraft movements decreased by 1.1 percent to 34,892, and total maximum takeoff weights or MTOWs fell by 1.9 percent to around 2.2 million metric tons, Fraport AG said in an official statement.

The company said that around 4.7 million passengers used Frankfurt Airport in March 2026, up 2.1 percent from last year.

Across all airports managed by Fraport, the company said that total passenger traffic rose by 5.1 percent year-on-year to about 10.3 million in March 2026. For the first quarter overall, traffic across the Group increased by 5.2 percent to 28.6 million passengers.

On the XETRA Exchange, FRA.DE ended Tuesday's trading at 76.70 euros, up 0.55 euros or 0.72 percent.
