On Tuesday, EHang Holdings Ltd. (EH), an advanced air mobility technology platform, reported sharply wider loss in the first quarter of 2026. The increase in loss was attributable to higher operating expenses, as well as decreased sales volume of electric vertical take-off and landing or eVTOL aircraft.

Looking ahead for fiscal 2026, the company continues to expect revenue of around RMB600 million, supported mainly by the market demand.

On the Nasdaq, the pre-market shares were trading 3.67 percent lower at $8.39, after closing Monday's regular trading 10.32 percent higher.

The Board on Monday approved a 12-month share repurchase program, authorizing the repurchase of up to $30 million of ADSs or ordinary shares.

Net loss for the first quarter attributable to ordinary shareholders skyrocketed to RMB 126.36 million or $18.32 million from loss of RMB 78.39 million in the same quarter last year.

Loss per ADS was RMB 1.66 or $0.24, in comparison with loss of RMB 1.08 the previous year.

Adjusted net loss attributable for the first quarter widened to RMB 75.19 million or $10.90 million from loss of RMB 30.82 million in the prior year.

Adjusted loss per ADS went up to RMB 1.00 or $0.14 from loss of RMB 0.42 a year ago.

Total operating expenses for the first quarter spiked to RMB 151.75 million or $22 million from RMB 110.86 million in the prior year, mainly due to higher sales and Research & Development expenses.

Total revenues went down to RMB 25.66 million or $3.72 million from RMB 26.09 million.

Sales and deliveries of eVTOL aircraft were four units of EH216 series, compared with 11 units of EH216 series in the first quarter of 2025
