Taiwan's personal computer maker Acer Inc. (2353.TW) on Tuesday posted its strongest May revenue in 13 years, as demand for personal computers and commercial products surged alongside new orders tied to artificial intelligence applications.
Consolidated revenue for May rose 36.5 percent from a year earlier to NT$26.17 billion. The company said the jump was helped by a 32.7 percent rise in PC sales and a 60.8 percent surge in commercial revenue excluding Chromebooks, while subsidiaries benefited from expanding AI application scenarios.
Tablet PCs were a bright spot, with revenue climbing 66.7 percent in May, the fastest among its product lines.
Overall, businesses other than personal computers made up 33.1 percent of total revenue.
The strong May capped a solid start to the year. Revenue for the first five months of 2026 rose 31 percent to NT$129.91 billion, also a 13-year high for the January-May period.
Year-to-date, commercial revenue is up 49 percent and PC revenue has risen 31.1 percent.
On the Taiwan Stock Exchange, shares of Acer closed Tuesday's trading 4.67 percent higher at NT$36.95.
