Major Drilling Group International Inc. (MDI.TO) said it completed the purchase of Forage à Diamant Benoit Ltée, the exploration drilling company based in Val-d'Or, Québec for an aggregate purchase price of C$21 million. The company paid approximately C$17.5 million in cash and C$3.5 million in liabilities.
The company said the acquisition of 19 drills rigs fits with its strategic focus on specialized drilling. In addition to the rigs, this acquisition involves support equipment and inventory, existing contracts and personnel.
