Monday, Goodrich Corp. (GR), said that it has been selected by Embraer to supply Air data systems or ADS and crew seats for the Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 executive jets. The value of the deal is estimated at around $110 million over the life of the programs for both original equipment and after-market revenue.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based systems supplier for aerospace, defense and homeland security markets, noted that the ADS features Goodrich's SmartProbe technology, the integration of which results in a significant reduction in the total number of individual system components, decrease in overall weight, and improvement in system reliability, maintainability and performance.
Works are to be performed by Goodrich's Sensors and Integrated Systems team in Burnsville, Minnesota as well as the Interiors team in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Additionally, the company said that the crew seats will incorporate improvements in reliability and safety, meeting the government regulations for emergency landing protection.
Curtis Reusser, Segment President, Electronic Systems at Goodrich, said, "The selection of Goodrich for the new Legacy executive jets further solidifies our longstanding relationship with Embraer. We look forward to providing industry-preferred technology on these exciting new platforms."
GR is currently trading at $33.70, down 9.14% or $3.39, on a volume of 983,752 shares on the NYSE.
