Spanish authorities said Monday that the country's security forces have successfully repelled an effort by African migrants to breach the border of Spain's African outpost city of Melilla.
They said that some 150 African migrants armed with sticks and rocks made an attempt to rush the border crossing on Monday, adding that the Spanish forces repelled their efforts successfully by using tear gas.
The authorities said that none of the attackers managed to cross into the Mediterranean city from Morocco and added that two Spanish police officers were injured in the incident.
