Thursday, Quantum Telecom Inc. (QTMI.PK) said it signed an exclusive agreement with Runcom Technologies for the development, manufacturing and selling of Ultra Low Cost WiMAX fixed and mobile handsets.
The company said the Quantum ULC WiMAX handsets would be embedded with Runcom's leading OFDMA technology providing fixed and mobile WiMAX solutions to operators rolling out 4th Generation 'Broadband Wireless Access' networks. The company also said Runcom recently signed a framework agreement with ChinaTel (CHTL.OB) for WiMAX deployment in 29 major cities across China, covering area of 300 million people.
In addition, Quantum has provided Runcom Technologies an option to purchase up to 30% of its shares, at $0.30 per share within the next 24 months, subject to a definitive agreement.
