More instances of swine flu infections in a London school has raised the number of confirmed cases in Britain to 39 Friday.
Four children and one adult from a school in southeast London have been diagnosed with the H1N1 virus, reports said.
This is in addition to six other students already diagnosed with the flu earlier this week.
This has forced the authorities to shut down the school, where 1,200 pupils study. They, as well as the staff, have been supplied with anti-flu medicines as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, British researchers have reportedly discovered the first genetic code of swine flu from European samples, and Health Secretary Alan Johnson confirmed it.
