Estonia Exports, Imports Decline Annually In March

Monday, a report from Statistics Estonia showed that exports at current prices dropped 22% in March from the previous year to EEK8.3 billion. At the same time, imports fell 30% to EEK10 billion.

On a monthly basis, exports rose 5%, while imports increased 11% in March. The trade deficit in March narrowed to EEK1.7 billion from EEK3.5 billion last year.

During the month, exports to the EU countries slipped by EEK1.9 billion from last year to EEK6 billion, while the imports dropped by EEK3.9 billion to EEK7.7 billion. The trade deficit stood at EEK1.8 billion in March.

Meanwhile, exports to the non-EU countries decreased by EEK 0.5 billion to EEK2.3 billion, while imports declined by EEK0.3 billion to EEK2.2 billion. The trade surplus with the non-EU countries was EEK0.1 billion.
