National Semiconductor CEO To Retire - Quick Facts

National Semiconductor Corp. (NSM) said that its chief executive officer, Brian Halla, will retire from his position, effective Nov. 30. He will remain executive chairman of the company.

Halla plans to retire from the board at the end of National's fiscal year 2010, the fourteenth anniversary of his joining the company.

Halla will be succeeded by Donald Macleod, who will become the company's president and chief executive officer and be appointed to its board, effective Nov. 30.

Macleod currently serves as National's president and chief operating officer.
