Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (CBRL) reported first quarter EPS of $0.78 Tuesday morning, up from $0.57 last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.62. The company now expects to report full year 2010 income from continuing operations of $3.05 to $3.30 per share, compared with prior expectations of 2.85 to 3.10.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store gapped up Tuesday and has spiked higher in early trade. Shares are now up 2.49 at $37.86. The stock has risen above a 2-month range and has set a new high for the year.
