Beckman Coulter Chairman, CEO Scott Garrett Resigns; Robert Hurley Named Interim President, CEO - Quick Facts

Beckman Coulter Inc. (BEC) announced the resignation of Scott Garrett as chairman, president and chief executive officer or CEO, effective September 6, 2010. The company said Garrett would continue as a full-time non-executive employee of the company through January 15, 2011, focusing his attention on aiding the board during this transition.

The board named Robert Hurley interim President and CEO, effective September 6, 2010, and would initiate a search for a successor. Prior to joining Beckman Coulter, Hurley was an executive with Baxter International, leading its operations in Asia for over 8 years.

Meanwhile, Glenn Schafer, lead independent director, was appointed by the board to the post of Non-executive Chairman.
