International Power plc (IPR.L, IPRPY.PK) Friday reported the decision of its chief financial officer, or CFO, to resign effective the next Annual General Meeting, currently scheduled for May 15, 2012. Further, the company said Geert Peeters would become deputy CFO with effect from January 3, 2012, eventually succeeding Williamson as CFO.
Williamson is expected to move to a position in GDF Suez, which holds a 70 percent stake in International Power, and report to that company's CFO Isabelle Kocher. Peeters is at present the vice president and CFO of GDF Suez's Global Gas & LNG division. Chairman of International Power Dirk Beeuwsaert thanked Williamson "for his outstanding contribution and commitment to International Power", adding "We are delighted that Mark is staying on within the wider GDF SUEZ group, which will benefit immensely from his experience."
Beeuwsaert also welcomed Geert, and noted "his strong financial and senior management experience in the international energy sector will be very valuable in helping International Power achieve its growth ambitions in a financially disciplined way."
