Attack on a prison and a police station in City of Gombe in northern Nigeria killed at least four civilian people. Many army officers were injured. Police said the attackers were using guns and bombs and firing lasted for two hours. The attackers failed to enter the federal prison and the police station. Radical Islamic sect Boko Haram is alleged to be behind the attacks.
Gombe has been under violence for the last few months. An attack on Friday has killed five worshipers at a mosque in Kano, a northern city. Previously in January, six worshipers were dead in an attack at a church.
