CVR Energy Inc. (CVI) posted fourth-quarter net income attributable to stockholders of $65.9 million or $0.75 per share, up from $2.3 million, or $0.03 per share in the year ago quarter. Adjusted net income for the fourth quarter 2011 was $29.5 million, or $0.34 per share.
Net sales were $1.06 billion down from $1.15 billion in the fourth quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.38 per share on revenues of $1.02 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
