Inflation in China rose to 3.6 percent in March from 3.2 percent in February, the National Bureau of Statistics said Monday.
Economists had forecast inflation to rise to 3.4 percent. On a monthly basis, the consumer price index rose 0.2 percent following 0.1 percent decline in February.
Meanwhile, the producer price index fell 0.3 percent from a year earlier in March. The outcome was in line with expectations.
