Thailand's annual inflation eased more than expected in April due to a slowdown in food inflation, data published by the the Ministry of Commerce showed Tuesday.
Annual inflation came in at 2.47 percent, down from 3.4 percent a month ago. Economists were forecasting the annual rate to drop to 2.9 percent. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.42 percent.
Food prices grew 4.15 percent annually and housing cost gained 2.12 percent. Core inflation that excludes prices of fresh food and fuel prices, eased to 2.13 percent from 2.8 percent in the previous month.
