Atwood Oceanics Inc. (ATW) Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $59.5 million or $0.90 per hare, compared to $70.6 million or $1.08 per share last year, hurt by lower margins.
Revenue for the quarter was $171.6 million, compared to $159 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.79 per share and revenue of $167.68 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
