Vitamin Shoppe Inc. (VSI) reported first quarter EPS of $0.61 Tuesday morning, up from $0.40 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.57.
Vitamin Shoppe rose sharply during the first half hour of trade Tuesday, but traded in a range for the remainder of the session. The stock closed up by 6.85 at $51.61 on the highest volume of the year. Vitamin Shoppe broke out of a 3-week range and set a new high for the year.
