Germany April Inflation Confirmed At 2.2%

Germany's EU harmonized consumer prices increased as estimated earlier in April, final data released by the Federal Statistical Office showed Friday.

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) increased 2.2 percent on an annual basis in April, in line with the preliminary estimates. In March, EU harmonized consumer prices advanced 2.3 percent annually.

On a monthly basis, the HICP moved up 0.1 percent in April, slightly slowed than the 0.2 percent growth seen in the preliminary estimates. The growth rate was also slower than March's 0.4 percent.

At the same time, the consumer price inflation came in at 2.1 percent in April, faster than the 2 percent growth initially estimated. The latest figure matched the inflation rate for March.

Month-on-month, consumer prices moved up 0.2 percent in April, faster than the flash estimates of 0.1 percent growth. The monthly growth rate in March was 0.3 percent.
